The Arene team is dedicated to democratizing vehicle programming by simplifying software development and increasing deployment frequency without compromising safety and security. This initiative aims to foster a new ecosystem of vehicle application developers, integrating vehicles into daily life in innovative ways. We are revolutionizing vehicle design and development in close collaboration with Toyota.
The Arene Product Management team is a global force, shaping the Arene Product Line roadmap through deep market understanding, customer focus, and awareness of technological trends. Our responsibility is to deliver the right solutions, at the right price, and at the right time, benefiting both customers and the Arene sponsor. The Product Management Director in North America works in close partnership with their counterpart in Japan.
Our team comprises product managers, product planning experts, market and user analysts, benchmarking specialists, and commercialization and partnership experts. We collaborate closely with global engineering teams to deliver Arene as a unified product line, building its reputation as a trustworthy and reliable brand by offering cost-effective solutions that meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
🎯 Who We Are Looking For? 🎯
We seek a business leader with profound expertise in B2B product strategy creation and planning, experienced in managing Fortune 50-type customers. You should have a proven track record of delivering business results through product line management, particularly with highly complex products that integrate extensive logical and physical elements, such as in the automotive or aerospace sectors. Extensive skills in change management and automotive industry regulations are also essential.
✅ Responsibilities ✅
- In close collaboration with the Japanese head of product management, define and maintain a unique global product strategy, roadmap, and associated communication & governance, supporting the Japanese marketplace while deeply considering North American and European markets.
- Build and manage a diverse team of senior professionals in product management, planning, market analysis, user experience, business strategies, and commercialization to maximize their efficiency in delivering business results.
- Proactively deploy strategies and leverage all possible resources, internal and external, to define features that provide Arene with competitive advantages, enabling Toyota's transition to Software-Defined Vehicles and maintaining its leadership in this new field, considering operational realities and constraints.
- Develop internal and external networks to facilitate the penetration of Arene's products, initially within Toyota group companies, then to J-OEMs, and subsequently to the global market.
- Track feature development execution by engineering, identify risks, and take action to drive results and meet schedule commitments.
- Leverage geographically dispersed global teams and stakeholders in your operations.
- Manage investments by prioritizing features and balancing them with non-functional requirements to ensure the Arene product line achieves solid financial performance in a software-driven business model, prioritizing safety and quality above profit.
- Balance competing factors such as risk mitigation, issue resolution, dependency management, speed versus quality of solutions, and ROI.
- Develop and maintain strong partnership networks within and beyond the Toyota group to gather insights and needs, fostering trustful relationships without over-customizing products, while educating customers/stakeholders to align with the long-term vision.
- Provide inspirational leadership through active listening, empathy, inclusivity, and modeling company values to maximize the performance of teams and individuals.
- Support business development and market influence activities through presentations at major industry events, conventions, and representation with partners and potential customers.
📚 Minimum Qualifications 📚
- Demonstrated experience delivering business results in a B2B environment similar to Arene's, with a product line possessing comparable technology, cost structure, and market complexity.
- Proven experience leading teams on successful technology products.
- 10+ years of pertinent experience delivering and servicing complex products that integrate human elements with extensive logical and physical components.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in connecting business context and customer impact to business results.
- Proven experience in go-to-market strategies, business plan definition, strategic plan definition, partnerships, complex commercial agreements, patents, and M&A.
- Prior experience working directly with engineering teams.
- Experience working with automotive OEMs and/or tier-1 suppliers.
- Experience working in the automotive, aerospace, or defense industries.
- Ability to embrace the challenge of creating metrics, designing product roadmaps, and influencing a diverse set of stakeholders toward a common goal.
